ABOUT US
The City of Northwood Fire Deptartment is a public department with members being paid-on-call, and currently have an ISO rating of 5. We protect approimately 6000 citizens in a 7 square mile area, including portions of I-75, I-280, SR 579, and SR 51. The city is primarily residential, but the industrial areas are expanding very quickly.

We have a Full-Time City Chief who oversees all operations of the Fire Department. He is assisted by two District Chiefs, and a Part-Time EMS Chief.

In addition to having a Full-Time Chief, we also have two personnel on duty from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. These personnel respond to all runs in the city and also take care of day-to-day tasks such as fire inspections and Public Relations.

Outside of these hours we have one person on call to respond to all runs within the city in our 2006 Ford Expedition Echo Unit. Usually this person is one of our Paramedics, who has all of the necessary equipment to provide Advanced Life Support. If a Paramedic is unavailable, the Echo Car is staffed by either an EMT-I or an EMT-B.

We provide all Fire, Rescue, and EMS Services to the City of Northwood and neighboring communities as requested. We are dispatched through the City of Northwood Police Department and operate on scanner frequency 153.890, which is the Wood County Fire Band.

We operate out of two stations, which are divided by 4 sets of railroad crossings.

Station #1 covers the west end of the city and is located at 2100 Tracy Rd.. Their phone number is 419-666-4341.

Station #2 covers the east end of the city and is located at 6000 Wales Rd, adjacent to the City Municipal Building. Their phone number is 419-693-8024.
