Structure Fire October 19, 2008-

At approximately 2040 hours on October 19th, the Northwood Fire Department was dispatched to 1929 Joseph for a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a 2-Story dwelling with a moderate amount of fire on the exterior of the house in the B-C corner. Crews were unable to determine if the occupant was home and completed a quick search of the building. The occupant was not at home and later arrived at the scene. The fire was knocked down fairly quickly and extensive overhaul was completed, with crews having to remove a majority of the roof of the single story addition at the rear of the house. Northwood Firefighters were assisted on the scene by the Rossford Fire Department as part of our Automatic Aid Agreement. One firefighter sustained an inury to his knee during operations. We would like to thank Retired Chief Keith Dempsey for his photographs at the scene and the Ladies Auxiliary for providing food and beverages to crews operating at the scene.
