Semi Crash, October 08th 2011- Northwood Fire Department was dispatched to a MVA on I-75 North near Wales Rd. Updates enroute advised a tractor trailer had went off the highway and down the embankment coming to rest on Oregon Rd.. On arrival crews found the vehicle upright but with heavy damage to the cab. The truck had traveled down an aprroximately 40' embankment and through some small trees and brush. The driver and a passenger who was in the truck sleeper at the time of the crash, both were out of the vehicle and walking around. The driver was transported for back injuries and the passenger suffered minor injuries and signed a refusal. Crews discovered that both the trucks fuel tanks were ripped of the vehicle and missing. Rossford Fire and Rescue Department was requested for mutual aid to bring thier spill trailer and assist with clean up. Crews remained on scene for a couple of hours handling the clean up and assisting with the vehicle removal.
