Febuary 26- Trailer Fire

At approximately 2120 hours, the Northwood Fire Department was dispatched to 1905 Tracy Lot # 187 for a Structure Fire. Rossford Fire & Rescue Department was dispatched on an Automatic Aid Agreement. Upon arrival crews found a fully involved trailer with fire coming out of most of the windows and doors. Lt. Romstadt took command. The home owner reported that everyone was out of the structure, and the engine crew from 801 pulled (2) 1 3/4" attack lines and started making a knockdown of the fire. District Chief Dunbereger arrived on scene and assumed the Safety Officer position. Crews from 802 and 804 were tasked with water supply and had to hand-lay 400' of 5" supply line in between trailers to the closest hydrant, due to the Trailer Park being private property and having no hydrants. 811 cut an opening into the back of the trailer to assist with attack because the initial attack crew was unable to get back to that area. Rossford 794 assisted by rotating their crews in for relief. Rossford 793 and Northwood 807 were tasked with rehab. Damage was estimated at $30,000. The fire was caused by a child playing with a lighter. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. Thanks to our Fire Department photographers, Clayton Kokensparger and Keith E. Dempsey, along with Chief Verbosky from RFRD for the pictures.
